The present invention provides a coating composition comprising zinc particles and a binder wherein the zinc particles contain at least 80% by weight of zinc flake and wherein the zinc particle to binder weight ratio is between 2:1 to 9:1. The coating composition may be an anti-corrosive composition or an antifouling composition. The coating composition may also inhibit or galvanize rust formation.
