The container includes: structure for holding the portable personal audio device; a device, separate from the personal audio device, for amplifying sound from said personal audio device; a source of power separate from the personal audio device, for the amplifying mechanism; a pair of speakers; and wiring for electrically connecting the personal audio device, the speakers, and the power supply to the amplifying mechanism.
