An alarm extension device includes a retainer configured to receive a personal paging device, a vibration sensor in operative association with the retainer, an auxiliary alarm generator, and a link between the vibration sensor and the auxiliary alarm generator. The link is sufficient to activate the auxiliary alarm generator when the vibration sensor identifies vibration from the retainer. An alarm system includes at least one wireless alarm transmitter.
