The system, in an embodiment thereof, comprises a slate wherein the generated, synchronized, and displayed video time code provides a visual marker for enabling post-production editing of the film or videotape. The slate enables generation of the video time code, synchronization thereof with a master clock audio time code, and displaying of the video time code.
