Analysis, and evaluation of the knowledge, skills, and abilities of others in the field of medical practice by physician assistants to determine conformity with advanced practice certification standards;DOCTOR OF MEDICAL SCIENCE PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT;The certification mark as used by authorized persons, certifies that such have met the certifier's requirements for practice in the Doctor of Medical Science (DMS) Physician Associate/Assistant, advanced Physician Associate/Assistant field, and that as such, each of such persons (1) has graduated from an accredited Physician Assistant Education Program accredited by the Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA) and/or approved to receive funding from the United States Department of Education (2) has successfully passed a Physician Assistant National Certification Examination (once) prepared by a national certifying body/agency and accepted/verified by the reviewer (3) worked in the Physician Associate/Assistant profession for a minimum of 4 years and/or 3,000 hours of clinical practice hours supported by documentation, which may include clinical instructional hours, within the 5 years immediately preceding the application request (4) has graduated from an accredited Doctor of Medical Science (DMS) education program approved to receive funding from the United States Department of Education and has clinical work hours (as a Physician Assistant/Associate) as a part of its curriculum. When the certification mark is also used for recertification of individuals authorized to use the mark, then such persons must meet the additional certifier's requirement of (1) completion every two years of 100 hours of continuing medical education (2) submitted a yearly medical practice evaluation form from their employer for the six years preceding recertification and (3) maintained a state license to practice unrestricted as a Physician Associate/Assistant for the six years preceding recertification.;
